It’s hard to plan an event in memory of someone while at the same time trying to make it fun for everyone, but we believe that that is what Max would’ve wanted. In this events infancy, he worried over what rides to include for ERT, what food would people enjoy the most and if the weather would cooperate. At the end of the day though, he genuinely was most worried about whether or not people would have a great time. It’s in this spirit that we set out to plan a day full of memories in honor of our dear friend.
We will start the day with ERT on Max’s favorite coaster, Intimidator, and we will have a memorial lap just for him. After that, we’ll head over to Fury 325 for some ride time where Max will be there in spirit every time we plunge down the first drop.
After a day full of memorable fun, we will end the night saying goodbye to another old friend of ours - Thunder Road. At just 39 years young, she will be closing for good at the end of the day. We’ve set aside some time just for attendees to send the old girl out in style, including getting the last rides that will ever be given. It’s your last chance to “Grit your teeth. Bear the load. Enjoy your ride. On Thunder Road.”
There are a few other surprises throughout the day and night that we’re working on for those in attendance, but rest assured when we get them finalized, you’ll be glad you were there!
